Helping Others Find Freedom

Shepherding Sexually Broken People

Sexual brokenness is pervasive in the Church. Difficulties arise as you strive to faithfully help others through these issues. Churches that provide biblical teaching, a plan for care and restoration, and loving support are in the best position to help others. We are here to help your church provide all these to your congregation and community. To find out how we can come alongside your church see more below.

Lead Biblically

The lies of addiction can sometimes speak louder than the truth of the gospel. So, It is important to have ministers committed to bringing the grace of the gospel to the area of sexual brokenness.

Develop A Plan

The sheer amount of people who struggle with sexual brokenness can be overwhelming. Although we may be perplexed, we do not have to be driven to despair. We can help your church develop a plan to help people struggling with sexual sin and betrayal.

Provide Loving Support

The fact that you are reading this is an indication that you want to help people. It is our hope that we can enable you to provide loving support to the people under your care.

Learn About Addiction

Addiction in general, and sex and porn addiction in particular are confusing subjects. As spiritual leaders, you are being asked to have a knowledge of several different issues. So, we have complied a list of helpful resources that will enable you to have a more comprehensive understanding of addiction. We also would love to have a conversation with you to help in any way we can.

“From the beginning of Awaken’s ministry, the Olivers have been working with individuals and couples in our church. They have also trained caregivers and small group leaders, and have consulted with our church staff and leadership on some difficult marital crises. Their personal trials and experiences in recovery have refined who they are, and what you see is what you get.  They are gracious and straight-shooting. I hope that more churches will take advantage of the ministry they provide, which is themselves; and their wise, thoughtful counsel on how to navigate through the delicate complexities of repentance and restoration.”

Associate Pastor, Cahaba Park Church (PCA)

“We have found Awaken to be a great partner serving us with godly counsel and practical coaching as we seek to help our members deal with the struggles related to pornography and sexual addictions. They helped us set up gospel-centered recovery groups that are strengthening marriages and individual’s walk with Christ. Every church needs a partner like them.”
