Katie was born and raised in Texas. From an early age she developed a passion for serving the community and advocating for justice. This led her to an education and career in social work.
Through several life events and years of working with people experiencing homelessness, the Lord opened her eyes and heart to the importance of seeing the humanity in each person and treating everyone with dignity and respect.
Katie moved to Birmingham in 2015 with her husband Joe. They have one son. In their free time, they enjoy traveling, attending sporting events, and playing board games.
